The Fund for the Environment & Urban Life is a new organization. We award grants three times a year. Our first grants* were awarded in Spring 2008. These projects are: Sustainable Urban Development Association, Toronto, Ontario, Canada “Newburg” model for dense suburban development Sustainable Hudson Valley, Albany, New York Hudson Valley Climate Action Campaign Center for New American Dream, Takoma Park, Maryland Bottled Water Project Ecology Center, Berkeley, California Climate Action Education Program CivicCorps, Oakland, California Community Garden Project COIN + Oxfordshire ClimateXchg, Oxford, England Climate Outreach and Information Project To further indicate our interest areas, the following are selected entities and projects that have received support by our Advisory Board Members for initiatives consistent with those that our Fund will support. Partners for Environmental Quality, Inc., Trenton, New Jersey Water and energy savings program Greenfaith, Inc., New Brunswick, New Jersey National training program for spiritual environmental leadership *Some of our grants are provided as charitable donations from the Fund's founder, Richard L.
